One of our missions here at nw-built is to provide the Pacific Northwest with an outlet where cars and people of all different types and color can join together in one place – in essence, bringing to light the diversity of our region. Last year we took it upon ourselves to fulfill that mission by hosting an event at Golden Gardens in Seattle, WA. It was a huge success being our first big event, and welcomed over 400 cars. Most importantly it showed that people and cars of all types can get together without all of the e-thuggery/flaming, to have a great time and enjoy the Pacific Northwest automotive scene & atmosphere.

Last Thursday marked the fourth “not so loko” Pacific Northwest StanceWorks meet. Much thanks to Paul Bruney organizing another cool event. The location this time was Juanita Park in Kirkland, WA – and while it wasn’t the greatest of locations for numerous reasons (parking, cops – see below), the overall meet had a laid back feeling and it was great to see old and new friends. Plus it was at the beach, and the sun stayed out all day.
I arrived a little after the meet started (about 6:30 pm), and parking was a complete mess. But what could you expect for throwing a car meet at a beach in nice weather? Regardless, I found a parking spot down the street and walked over to where the group of cars were. My first impression of the meet as I approached the cars was “damn, nice turnout!”. The photos you see here prove it – a nice variety of well built cars that showcase what the PNW has to offer. With summer ending and school right around the corner, it was a opportunity to enjoy with friends and catch up on what’s been happening in everyone’s lives.
Eventually, the local law enforcement and Washington State Patrol showed up to give everyone a good time and congratulate everyone for their modified cars. Unfortunately, that’s not what they really came for – law enforcement had parked near the entrance and anyone who decided to leave the meet with noticeable extensive modifications and/or no front plate, were either ticketed or lectured. Good times indeed but regardless, PNW StanceWorks 4.0 was a great time and you definitely missed out if you weren’t there. I’ll let these photos do the rest of the talking. Yesterday was day two of the first annual Bigfoot Bash at PGP. The sun was out and it was a great day to see some cars go balls-out around the track’s fifteen corners.
There was a pretty good variety of cars on display along with drivers of differing styles and skill levels.
There was even a big group of cars that came down all the way from Canada to get in on the action.
All in all it was a blast. Lots of cars, lots of people and the drivers were just there to get out and have fun before winter ruins it for everyone.
Unfortunately, the harsh sun also meant that a lot of my pictures didn’t turn out. So blame the sun for the lack of variety here.
This next shot is a little teaser for my next feature. I won’t say what the car is, but I will say that there are hints in the picture. If you figure it out, don’t spoil the surprise!
