I decided this year to finally make it out to PNW Springmeet, as I hopped in with the rest of the caravan driving west to the show, from Spokane. It was definitely worth the 4 hour drive for Springmeet, or any of the number of shows that the HappenStance crew throws. Easily one of the best old schools shows Iʼve ever been to, and I plan on making the drive over for it in the future.

Old School [ōld-ˈskül] – adj: “vintage; from an earlier time; retro.”
Old School in automotive terms is simply defined as a group of vintage cars dated from the 1980′s and before with a nostalgic aura. To bring many of these cars together in the Pacific Northwest, Mike Tolliver and HappenStance Event Productions collaborated to create the annual The Old School Reunion – this time for its fourth year.

Growing up in Washington, we’ve been used to enjoying car lifestyle during roughly two months of sunshine and the other ten with the rain in effect or always looming! With great weather and fresh cars that we’re used to only seeing in mags, a SoCal import show has been on our to-do list for quite some time.

Southern California: the epitome of the words sunshine and beach, quite different from the Pacific Northwest familiarity of rain and lush greenery. But wait – we’ve always stood by our mission to exclusively provide Pacific Northwest content to our fans, so why are we writing about such a foreign place, and in particular, WekFest? Even though a plethora of other sites for nationwide coverage exist, you won’t get a Pacific Northwest Perspective on events like this one that are important to our automotive culture and lifestyle. For that reason alone, we’ve decided to travel and attend major events such as WekFest San Francisco, and now WekFest Los Angeles 2012 to give you the PNW look from afar.
