Thursdays Adventure
Decided to take a little cruise on a quest to find a lake. Started out awesome. Starts at about 350 ft elevation and if you take it the whole way it gets to around 5500. Pretty awesome gravel road to go rally it up.

Threw these on in hopes of being able to tackle any terrain.

Started Here. Gorgeous. And starts the one lane no road sides awesomeness.

Party way up stopped for a photo op. It was gorgeous. Less the rain.

Then at about mile 17 or so we ran into a problem. Flying through the trees hit a patch of snow/ice and got high centered on the snow.

The wheel gap showing how far we were high centered.

Now this would have been all fine and dandy had we had shovels and ropes or another car. But we didn't. So with the help of sticks and a road sign we tried to dig her free. After about two hours we gave up.

Now the part that sucks. Because there was no cell reception because we are in the foot hills of rainier we had to walk down. Mind you we are about 17 miles up this road. No houses, no people, no nothing.

So we walked in about 30 degrees of pouring rain until we finally got enough reception to call for help. Finally got ahold of someone that could come up.

Total time stuck in the snow??? 6 hours.

TL;DR

Rallied up a mountain
Lost it in the snow.
Waited 6 hours for a tow

RE: Thursdays Adventure
after you cross the bridge....about 3-5 miles theres a fork in the road...you probably went right up a hill. If you went left you would have gone to the Carbon River Ranger station about another 5 miles up the road. It also dead ends there at the entrance to MT Rainiers Nat'l Park. That way also follows the Carbon river and looks like this...

I guess you don't know anything about the car or the road. Once i was no longer high centered i drove straight through that. Just an unfortunate bump caused me to get stuck in the first place. But whatever.

I know enough to not be surprised.... Anywho sucks that what would have been a fun day turned into a shitstorm. I have had my fill of those kinds of days. Two Saturdays ago my -8 fuel feed line bursted on I-5 not only dumping my whole tank on the ground but ruined some of the paint on my black plastic on the rear bumper. Low profile cars dont like trailers btw either. And $200 of fuel line later and 6 hours of waiting to get towed I am back on the road. I was actually lucky it wasnt any worse!
