Name: Brent Brooks
Car: 1990 Volkswagen Mk 2 Jetta
Location: Puyallup, WA
Why did you choose to go with this car?
I wanted something different from everyone else. Nobody really runs the Mark 2 anymore.
Have you had any other cars before this?
Before this car, I had a Dodge truck and a Saber. This is my first Volkswagen and the wife daily-ed it for about a year and then I drove it until I blew the tranny. By me blowing the tranny, that’s what sparked the build. The car has been rebuilt since 06. I’ve made changes here and there to keep it fresh. I’ve had the car since 99’ and I’m the 3rd owner. This is the first car I’ve done mods to.
What is your proudest mod and why?
I would have to say my proudest mod is the putting in the VR6 because it’s fun. I have more power. It might not be the fastest car, but it’s quick
Have you had any memorable moments with this car?
My most memorable moment with this car was before the build. I was driving my wife to the hospital because she was in labor. The car started sputtering and so I had to drop her off first and had to drive home to get the Passat.
What is your future plans for this car?
I’d like to put a cage and turbo it. I’m pretty happy with the way it is. I just want the cage and boost. I drive like a jackass so I want to be somewhat safe.
Has anyone helped you with this build? Any shout outs?
I’d like to make a shout out to TKO Motorwerks for helping me fit the dash and shifter box. I stripped the car down to the cage with some buddies. I took the car to Dreamworks for paint. Other shout outs go to Thip N, Yannik (Unique), Epitome Car Club, Chris, Eric, and many others!
