The Landing

Photos and words by Vinnie Nguyen

Today’s meet up at The Landing in Renton was pretty sweet. I borrowed a fisheye lens from a friend so I knew I was going to have some fun with it for today. Some of us had gotten there early, so we were able to see everyone as they rolled in one by one. As expected though, as more cars came through, the more agitated the security got. Surprisingly enough, they didn’t kick us out right away.  They gave us a fair warning that if someone were to come through revving their engines and/or going past 10mph then they were going to kick us out. We were all poking fun at what the security guard said, “Yup! They’re going to kick us out!” was what you would hear a lot of the time when someone came rolling up. We had some past and recent features come to the meet like:

Mike Gayvoronskiy and his monster MX5: http://nw-built.com/?p=155:

Vernon Lim’s stanced RSX: http://nw-built.com/?p=1678:

And Andrew Le’s baller status G35: http://nw-built.com/?p=1666.

Cj Ramos came with his clean Mazdaspeed3 as well.

One of my friends brought his stanced skateboard as well. I’ve seen it online thinking it was fake but he had it right there for everyone to see. It was something new and pretty cool. After a while, we all headed down to Five Guys. It was my first time there and they had some good burgers.

After eating, we all headed back up to the garage where we all just chilled and talked until slowly we all headed out and by then it was dark. Compared to bigger meet ups like tomorrow’s Honda Tech Meet, todays meet up was small. Though that was the case, a lot of us got to meet each other and actually talk to one another; old friends got to see each other again while new friendships were made.

See you guys at the next meet up!
