As I watched the snow pile up outside for nearly two hours, my hopes for a photoshoot began to fall. I was scheduled the next day to shoot with Nick Pacifico, the owner of a beautiful Tornado Red 2005 Jetta GLI. I called him, expecting him to say that he didn’t want to drive through the ice and snow to take pictures. To my surprise, Nick was ecstatic about the snow and thought it presented a wonderful opportunity.
Nick lives in Bellingham, Washington, and has been in the automotive scene for quite some time now. Since the beginning he has owned 14 Volkswagens alone.
Nick first bought this car two years ago when it was bone stock. Since then a lot of time, effort, and thought has gone into it.
“My favorite part of the car would definitely have to be the interior,” he said. The OEM factory Recaro seats in Nick’s Jetta have been re-covered in synthetic diamond-stitched leather.
Outside, the car is sitting on CCW LM20’s and is lowered on H&R Ultralow coilovers. When I asked Nick how he got into the stance scene he said, “As far as I can remember, I’ve always been low. I have friends that built low-rider trucks, which made me want to go lower and stance my car.”
When I asked Nick what influenced the direction of modifications on his car, he replied, “I just wanted to build a simple and clean looking car.”
Sadly, Nick is getting out of the Volkswagen scene for now and is selling his Jetta. He isn’t really sure what he will get into next, but whatever it is I am definitely excited to see how his build goes!
