Yesterday was day two of the first annual Bigfoot Bash at PGP. The sun was out and it was a great day to see some cars go balls-out around the track’s fifteen corners.
There was a pretty good variety of cars on display along with drivers of differing styles and skill levels.
There was even a big group of cars that came down all the way from Canada to get in on the action.
All in all it was a blast. Lots of cars, lots of people and the drivers were just there to get out and have fun before winter ruins it for everyone.
Unfortunately, the harsh sun also meant that a lot of my pictures didn’t turn out. So blame the sun for the lack of variety here.
This next shot is a little teaser for my next feature. I won’t say what the car is, but I will say that there are hints in the picture. If you figure it out, don’t spoil the surprise!

It’s not often that you see a nicely stanced, daily driven RX-8; then again, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the Pacific Northwest. Now that’s what you call a trendsetter.
The driver of this boss 2008 Mazda RX-8 GT is Sean, and he hails from Snohomish, WA. He bought it brand new in August of 2008, and hasn’t stopped modding it since. “I love how it handles”, he told me. This wasn’t the first car to give him the modding bug, though.
My step dad was into cars and passed the obsession on. We built a 67 Chevelle SS that we still have today.
I remember way back when (late 2009 – early 2010) Sean first picked up his MB Battles. A buddy of his posted photos of it, and I knew it was going to turn some heads. At that time though, it was still on a shock / spring combo. Ever since then, he’s been working on dialing in the Stance by adding Megan Track Coilovers, and adding various visual enhancements such as his new addition: a CF roof and trunk.
So what was it that pushed Sean past the edge to do what most RX-8 owners don’t?
All the people that mod RX-8′s wrong were my motivation to do it right. My buddy Mike (Weaksauce, with the previously featured Mazda MX-6) showed me the light (to the stance scene)! Mike, Brad, Evan, Dennis, and my stepdad are the people who helped me build the car. Lack of funds have been the only thing keeping me back.
Sean says future plans for the car are an LS-1 swap. When asked what we would rate the RX-8 in its current state on a scale from 1-10, he replied “7, it’s a work in progress.”
What is your most memorable moment with this car? “I was driving with some friends at night on the highway after leaving Henry’s Donut shop in Mukilteo and was racing a 240sx, and was shooting out 3 foot long flames out my exhaust. Got instant respect from everyone.”

Over this past Labor Day weekend, the annual Honda-Tech summer meet was held at Marymoor park in Redmond, WA. Even though Labor Day weekend is when most families make plans for their last vacation of the summer, there was still a fairly decent turnout.
Now even though the event was started on Honda-Tech, most of the cars that showed up weren’t Hondas. From my past experience with Honda meets, a lot of the people that show up are either people who randomly hear about the events or people who previously owned a Honda but still come to the events.
Amidst the wide variety of cars and stereotypical crazy key chains hanging from people’s tow hooks, there were some pretty clean cars there.
After the meet, I went out with my friends David and Daniel for a little shoot. David drives a 2007 Fiji Blue Pearl Civic FG2 Si and Daniel has a 2008 Civic Mugen Si.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of these last two cars in the future.
